New Sessions Available

Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi is pleased to announce the following programs for Beginners Tai Chi, Shaolin Fitness and Qigong:

 

Introductory Tai Chi,  Mondays, at 11:00 am

A 1 hour class for those with little or no experience in Tai Chi, or those who want review and refinement of foundation skills. This class will cover basic movements, stances, silk reeling exercises and the 18 movement "Essence" form created by Master Chen ZhengLei. DVD available to supplement your classroom practice.

New students can start anytime and access to our Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Tai Chi classes is included at no extra charge. The other classes are also suitable for beginners. The primary difference is that the other classes are 90 minutes and class time is divided among beginner, intermediate and advanced level students learning a variety of skills after the intitial part of class were everyone works together on core skills.

Shaolin Fitness, Level 1 - Sundays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

This is not your standard kickboxing/aerobics class. You'll improve speed, balance, flexibility and aerobic capacity while burning fat and building core strength through the use of Shaolin training techniques. This is a non-rhythmic class so you won't have to learn moves choreographed to music and you won't have to learn forms or sparring. Instead, you'll get a program that gives you the benefits of Pilates, yoga, aerobics and martial arts training all rolled into one fitness program with lots of exercises you can do anywhere and without special equipment! Level 1 is for beginners of all fitness levels. $45 per month if this is your only class at Jing Ying. $30 per month if a family member participates in any of our monthly programs. $20 per month if you are in our Tai Chi program. Free if you are in our Kung Fu program!

Qigong  - Sundays at 5:00 pm New session start date to be announced

This six week session of one hour classes will focus on the Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong set. The movements are easy to learn and are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Although a simple set, regular practice will provide noticeable health benefits in just a few months. We have instructional material available in book and DVD format to supplement your classroom practice. Presented by acupuncturist Justin Landers of Body Anew (www.BodyAnew.net).

Qigong - 6 week session
