At Jing Ying Institute, we are about much more than kicking and punching! We believe Community Service is important and we believe in helping where we can.
On an individual basis, we want our students to learn to do what is right and to be involved and active members of society. People naturally like to help others and we want to encourage that attitude in our students as well as help them find opportunities to express it.
In addition to events where we directly help raise funds, we often do educational programs at local schools to help students learn about Chinese culture and the history of Lion Dance, Kung Fu or Tai Chi. These types of activities are too numerous to list individually.

Saturday, Oct 27, 2007 - Halloween party and the start of our Silent Auction for SPAN.
Saturday, December 16, 2006 - Holiday Party and end of Silent Auction. We raised over $1,500!
Saturday, October 28, 2006 - Kick-a-thon for St Jude Children's Hospital. We raised over $1,000!
Saturday, December 17, 2005 - Our Holiday Party was from noon to 2:00 pm. We had games, refreshments and more! This was also the end of our silent auction to support the hurricane relief efforts of The Arc, a charity supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. They had many group homes damaged by the hurricanes in the Gulf. You can see a partial listing of items in the Silent Auction at: Silent Auction We raised almost $1,000.00!
Saturday, Oct 29, 2005 - Demo at 3:00 pm for The Arc of Anne Arundel at their Glen Burnie office. We performed Lion Dance, weapons and empty hand forms.
