September is Special!

Jing Ying Institute will be giving away prizes, offering free classes, and celebrating the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with mooncakes throughout the month! Tour our facility, try any of our beginner classes for free (view schedule), and/or sign up for one of our special events.

Classes are open to the general public and do not require any previous experience. Please register in advance for classes you would like to attend. You may register at the door, but it will be on a "space-available" basis. Arrive 5 minutes early to classes or events to check in. Events take place at Jing Ying in Arnold except for the September 4 morning tai chi class.

September 4: Free Tai Chi Class (Severna Park Community Center)
September 6: Free Homeschool Kung Fu Class & Resource Fair
September 17: Free Family Kung Fu Class
September 18: Free Family Kung Fu Class
September 20: Free Morning Tai Chi Class: Meditation in Motion
September 20: Free Evening Tai Chi Class: Meditation in Motion
September 25: Free Beginner Adult Kung Fu Class


Wednesday, September 4 (10:30-11:30am)
Free Tai Chi Class
Location: Severna Park Community Center

Join us for tai chi at the Severna Park Community Center. Learn about the benefits of tai chi and practice some basic moves.

Wear clothing that allows for movement, such as a t-shirt and athletic pants.

All other classes are at our main studio: Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi in Arnold.

Friday, September 6 (11:00am-1:30pm)
Free Homeschool Kung Fu Class & Resource Fair
Location: Jing Ying Institute

We offer our well-designed kung fu program during a daytime class that was designed with homeschoolers in mind but is open to anyone ages 5 to adult who is available mid-day. Join us to try out a class for free.

Wear clothing that allows for movement, such as a t-shirt and athletic pants.

We will also have a resource fair so you can meet other organizations that provide activities as well.

Free Family Kung Fu Classes
Location: Jing Ying Institute
For ages 5 to adult. These classes are geared towards children and their families.

These introductory classes are suitable for beginners of all fitness levels with no experience in martial arts as well as those who have studied other martial arts. There will be free mooncakes and a take-home craft in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.

Wear clothing suitable for movement, such as athletic pants and a t-shirt.

Friday, September 20 (10:30-11:30am) AND
Friday, September 20 (7:00-7:45pm)
Free Tai Chi Classes: Meditation in Motion
Location: Jing Ying Institute

Learn basic tai chi and qigong exercises, with an emphasis on silk-reeling movements. Discover how this ancient and low-impact form of exercise promotes joint health, improves flexibility and strength; improves balance and helps prevent falls; helps with arthritis; blood pressure, diabetes, and chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia; is effective in alleviating non-motor symptoms of Parkinsons and can slowdown its progression; and increases bone density.

You have the option of sitting down for all or part of the class. The class is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Wear clothing suitable for movement, such as athletic pants and a t-shirt.

Free Adult Kung Fu Class
Location: Jing Ying Institute
For ages 12 to adult.
